Initial Consultation

We encourage clients to have a consultation with us at the early stages of the build to increase design options, ensure stair regulations are met and help prevent potential extra costs.

Lead Times

Lead times of the goods of the company vary depending on the stairs design and finish chosen. The customer will be informed of the expected lead time of the goods during the sales process. Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances may lead to changes in the lead time. The company cannot accept responsibility for delays which arise due to such unforeseen conditions.

Credit Terms

We operate strict implementation of the credit terms below and do not proceed to the next stage until payments have been made.
Credit terms for all AJD Ltd. products:

30% deposit
40% on fabrication
30% on day of installation

3D Drawings

We can provide 3D drawings and engineers design certification if required at an extra cost.

Stairs Fitting

We only supply and fit to ensure our quality craftsmanship is upheld from conception through to completion.

The property must have a temperature of between 15-20 degrees Celsius and relative humidity between 40%-65% when fitting the finished stairs.

Finished treads will be covered for protection when fitted. You must remove the protective covering within 3 weeks of fitting.

AJD Stairs will not be responsible for any damage caused by others to the stairs after fitting. Any damage caused by others after fitting will be repaired at the customers own expense.

Terms for Timber 

Timber is a natural product and although AJD Stairs will endeavore that the product is as consistent as possible the company cannot offer any guarantee on appearance, such as colour matches on laminates, knots, grain patterns, sap lines or pith, as they are part of the natural character of the timber and not defects.

AJD Stairs will not be responsible for any warping, twisting, splits, mould, stains or other damage caused by the environment that the stairs is fitted in.

It is the customers responsibility to ensure that products are protected from damage by water, sun, over heating, humidity changes and other physical and environmental conditions that will affect the appearance, structure and life span of the product.

AJD Stairs is not in control of moisture content or temperature changes in your home, therefore we cannot be responsible for any subsequent damage to the stairs.

Any issues should be notified to us within 48 hours from date of final installation.

Any damage to the stairs after this time must be notified to AJD Stairs, a survey will be carried out, a price for repair work agreed and must be prepaid before repairs are carried out.

Terms for Glass

All glass products should be checked for defects immediately after fitting and to obtain any necessary build compliance approval required prior to installation.

Any issues should be reported to AJD Stairs immediately.

Safety Gates

We do not supply or fit stairs safety gates.

Stairs Maintenance

The stairs should be wiped clean with a warm, damp cloth. No chemicals should be used on the staircase.
